Palimpsests
A palimpsest is a manuscript written in a medium scraped clean to erase previous texts. For centuries, this practice allowed scarce writing materials to be reused, unintentionally preserving fragments of the old beneath the layers of the new.
This section celebrates the iterative, dynamic essence of palimpsests and digital media, embracing the hyper-textual, peripatetic spirit of the early web. Here, you will encounter finished articles, evolving fragments, incremental collections, ephemeral logs, and entire sections. Did I hear recursion? Good wander!
